A poll

March 29, 2011

Okay, so I’m pretty sure that Harper’s going to win a plurality in this election — I’m on record predicting a majority.

That said, he’s demonstrated a certain … talent … for winning less than he should, given the campaigns he runs.

So my early prediction for the majority-loser is this:

A maniacal laugh from Harper on e-day eve knocks the Tories down to 153 seats from a projected 160.

What say you, dear readers?

Too early yet. He hasn’t mentioned child pornographers so far.

You fellows have misinterpreted my question.

I’m not asking for a seat prediction — that post is earlier.

I’m asking for a prediction about what the PM will do that will lose him the majority. 2004 was Martin is soft on child porn, 2006 was judges and bureaucrats, 2008 was artists’ galas.

So what gem will we hear in 2011? Or is this his time to shine?

    What fun event this time?

He reveals that he wants to cut spending in order to balance the budget faster. He doesn’t say exactly how.

What will cost him seats? The refusal to acknowledge that he wanted a tactical coalition when in opposition, just like the current opposition.

The media pack is not particularly bright, but they know hypocrisy when they see it. And they know how to sell that story.
