Overconfidence watch
I really enjoyed this little video from Jim Geraghty.

But I’m skeptical. Can it really be so good for conservatives in America right now?
How about that Q4 economic growth data — are we on the verge of an Obama comeback?
Update: But I’m over-confident enough right now to want to see a reconciliation fight on the Senate floor.
How much fun would that be? I mean, a rolling filibuster of amendments, with debate going on for days straight.
I’d love it. I’d be glued to C-SPAN.
Meanwhile, look at the charts here. I see at least ten Democrat-held seats that could go Republican.
Which? DE, ND, PA, NV, IL, CO, AR, CA, NY, WI, IN, WA, MD — hey, that’s thirteen… I say Schumer, Leahy, and Akaka are safe, no matter what happens before the fall.
Akaka isn’t up, Inouye is, and he’s 85. There are rumors he’s retiring.
If THAT’s the case, Linda Lingle could actually waltz into his seat.
That said, I think the rumors are probably wrong, and he’ll probably run for re-election.
Schumer…is as safe as you can get. But there is talk of Larry Kudlow running against him. He wouldn’t win, but it would be entertaining.
Lehey actually COULD theoretically lose…if retiring Governor Jim Douglas were to run against him. Douglas already lost to him once, in ’92, and in his retirement announcement he ruled out running for anything else. But hey…maybe he could be talked into running in a post Scott Brown world.
Actually, I think MD is safer D for Senate then any of the three mentioned above.
As for the other ones, yes, the could theoretically be competitive.
